Dutch Costume Resale
At this once-a-year event, people can find a Dutch costume to celebrate Tulip Time, or they can sell a costume they no longer need. See our flyer for more details: DCR 2010 Flier.pdf
Where else can you spend approximately $15 and get 12 hardcover books to read during the year? That's what happens in Book Circulation. Books are suggested to the activity chair who then makes the selections. Members pay the cost of one book and then the books are rotated throughout the year so members get a new book to read each month. It's a great and easy way to catch up on all the most talked-about books. This activity starts in September.

There is nothing like a good book, except perhaps sharing that book with a group of good friends. Once a month a member offers to host, select a book and lead the discussion. Don't worry if you aren't comfortable leading a discussion. We have plenty of members who love to take the lead in gabbing! So come and join us for a fun night of lively discussion- sometimes even about the book! We meet the last Tuesday of every month at 7:30pm.

Empty NestersThe Empty Nesters Group was started in January 2004, and was an immediate success. It was established for older members, 45 and over, who wish to connect and socialize with people in their own age group. A member volunteers to organize an activity each month and suggestions for future activities are offered by the group. These activities have included plays, dinner at local restaurants, museum tours, golf and potluck dinners at members’ homes. To keep the member’s interest, it is the goal of the group to offer more variety in their monthly activities.

Don't be fooled by the name - dads are welcome too! Moms and/or dads get together with their infants, toddlers and preschoolers several times a month for story time, play time and other special outings such as apple picking, swimming and sledding. It's a great way to learn about children's activities in Holland. Activities will be listed in the newsletter, but cancellations or changes are made by email.

Do you enjoy working on scrapbooks or photo albums? Come join other scrapbooking enthusiasts while we all work on our albums. Drop by to chat while you crop, cut and paste memories that will be enjoyed for a lifetime. Just bring your albums, supplies and your creativity! Interested?

The activities planned by the Socials Committee are as varied as it gets; there is truly something for everyone! We have organized everything-- from luncheons, to an evening out at a comedy club; shopping trips in Holland, Grand Rapids, or even Chicago; and family activities, such as our annual Kickoff picnic and our Halloween party. Also falling under the umbrella of “Socials” are Game Night, Ladies Night Out, Crafting 101, and Bunko, which are scheduled periodically throughout the year. Be sure to check the Socials section of both the newsletter and the website each month for current and upcoming events!

Let yourself be immersed in the intricate flavor and aroma of a specific food or drink. Join our group once every other month, usually on a Friday night; to taste and enjoy a variety of flavors (i.e. wine, chocolate, coffee…), and socialize! Each outing will be crafted to provide an enriching experience for palate and persona. A night of discovering and savoring amongst friends is an opportunity you should not forego.
